For those of you who don"t know Chivornne, you need to. Aside from her never ending smile, Chivornne has a passion for Kitchwin Hills that is absolutely infectious. Check out what she put together on Duporth and his foals and subsequently lodged on youtube;

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oUP8v5KExMI

If you missed it on Tuesday on TVN it will be replayed Thursday night, Tara Madgwick picked up on it and played it on the Thoroughbreds program.

It just shows you how hard it is these days to keep a secret on youtube.

If you are joining us this Friday and Saturday for the number 1 country race meet on the planet, you might like to be prepared for the above!

We look forward to seeing you then.

Dane Shadow - a shot at his home title.

Inline Image

Two of the big races this weekend are without doubt the Scone Guineas and the Scone Cup.  Dane Shadow has two live chances in both the Cup the Scone Guineas; via Group 1 winner Shadows In The Sun (returning from injury) and the up and coming Fedde.

Shadows In The Sun made an encouraging return from a 12 month layoff a few weeks back and, if sound, should relish Scone"s wide-open straight.

Fedde is also a very interesting starter.  He has had 8 starts for 2 wins and 2 placings and on occasions has shown plenty.  From a Zabeel mare, he will also love the wide expanse of the Scone track so look for him to hit the line very hard. The likely problem he will face is from his school-yard buddy Pampelonne who may just prove impossible to run down.

FRIDAY- SCONE CUP DAY 18 May

Australia
Geelong RC
3:30pm Race 7 Schweppes H., A$12000 1200m

Kitty Cotswold (AUS) 2008 (F. by Flying Spur-Bibury Flyer)
Sold at Easter 2010 for $200k. Five starts for 1-3-1. Appears a horse with plenty of ability. First start back, should win here? Good luck to her breeder Carl Holt.

Ipswich TC
3:48pm Race 6 Win a Trip for 2 to Paris H., A$25000 2150m

Endless Shadow (AUS) 2008 (F. by Dane Shadow-Endless Maize)
Passed in  MM NATY 2010 at $38,000. Nominated for the Roses tomorrow and despite being a real chance is unlikely to get a run. Hence, she will likely go around here and should smash them. Good luck to her owner/breeders the Barr family.

Scone RC
1:33pm Race 3 Cressfield H., A$50600 1300m

Shade of Green (AUS) 2008 (F. by Dane Shadow-Planet Green)
Was a shade disappointing last start. Had shown plenty prior to that so don’t be surprised if she bounces back here. Good luck to her breeder/owner Keith McCulloch.

12:58pm Race 2 Pluck at Vinery Stud Maiden H., A$50600 1000m
Sun Devil (AUS) 2008 (F. by Dane Shadow-Sunkita) -
A first starter who has trialled well enough to suggest she could be in this. Price determines strategy.

3:58pm Race 7 Scone Cup L, A$182300 1600m
Shadows in the Sun (AUS) 2007 (G. by Dane Shadow-Best Out West) -
Sold for $275k at MM 2010. A Group 1 winner who appears back from injury. Returned in ideal fashion 3 weeks back. Will need to run on from that barrier which if you go back to his run as a 2yo in the Group 1 TJ Smith this may actually be a possibility. Good luck to his breeder Grahame Mapp.

4:36pm Race 8 Kia Ora Country Cup, A$60600 1400m
Overshadows (AUS) 2006 (G. by Dane Shadow-Rubicard) -
Sold at Scone 2008 for $13k. Won or placed 15 of 22 starts but will need to lift here. Good luck to his breeder Grahame Mapp.

SATURDAY- SCONE GUINEAS DAY 19 May

Villa Splendido (AUS) 2009 (F. by Holy Roman Emperor-November Song) -
Passed in at $11k Easter last year. Won super impressively on debut. Can she go on with it? Very interesting. $7 fixed. Good luck to her breeder Grahame Mapp.

Fedde (AUS) 2008 (G. by Dane Shadow-Nightingales Lane) -
Sold for $57,500 at Classic Sale 2010. Returned from spell first up to run a close third at Canterbury 3 weeks ago. Always a horse that was likely to improve with time. Reports are encouraging but will need to be right to win this. Each way bet of the day? Note outside draw as well. Good luck to his breeder Geoff Grimish and his owner Chris Lawler.

Pampelonne (AUS) 2008 (G. by Rock of Gibraltar-Jestajewel) -
Sold for $140000 at Easter 2010. He could be a star in the making  and has been astutely handled by his trainer Tim Martin. A deserved hot favourite. Good luck to his breeder Tim Martin and his owner Alan Bell.

VRC
1:45pm Race 4 Baden Baden Trophy, A$71000 2000m

Turnitup (AUS) 2007 (G. by Dane Shadow-No Finding) -
Second again last start when ran into a good one. Can you believe it, another outside gate, otherwise another great each way chance. Good luck to his breeder, owner Gino.
