Frustration - the feeling that accompanies an experience of being thwarted in attaining your goals

Whilst it has been a pretty good week for Kitchwin and Kitchwin clients with four stakes performers from four starters last weekend on Randwick"s Super Saturday, we do need to highlight an unsung hero - the teaser at Kitchwin and this is his story, it"s one of excitement with no cigars!

The teaser"s role is to highlight where a mare is within her reproductive cycle.  If she"s not ready to stand to be covered then, as Dane Shadow"s wingman, the teaser "takes the hits" for his illustrious mate. Take Mick with you to the pub one night, you will know exactly what I mean. The teaser"s position here at Kitchwin is critical, he"s worth his weight in hay, doing a thankless and frustrating task which at most times is dangerous, so next time you"re singing the praises of Dane Shadow, remember his little mate!

To honour our unnamed little man, we are running a "Name the Teaser" competition. The winner will receive a dinner for 5 (teaser can have the night off) at the Linga Longa restaurant. Email in your responses to kitchwin@bigpond.com as the competition ends next Wednesday at 4pm.

Name Me!

What have we got here?

Mick Price unveiled a good one yesterday when first time starter Euphoric Realm lead all the way from the outside barrier in his three length win in the Bendigo Turfs Up October 17 Maiden Plate (1300m).
He is one bred, owned and imported from the US by Carl Holt.  Carl, after selling so many future stars as yearlings, might have finally kept a good one for himself.

Euphoric Realm won as even money favourite, those close to the stable obviously knew they were onto a horse with a lot of promise. Note the name Euphoric Realm for this time next year!

Please note, this particular mating was designed in conjunction with Carl Holt by Barry Keown.

Foal of the Week

Our foal of the week, is this Flying Spur colt from the Sunday Silence mare Sunday Service. Trained by G Rogerson for the late Bruce Reid, Sunday Service was a winner of three races in town & stakes placed twice, she is from the family of the great Danehill himself and this colt has a great future ahead of him. Congratulations to the Reid family.
