Redoute's Choice 3YO Opens his Account
6-Feb-2009

Redoutes Choice had an impressive winner on Wednesday. The Peter Moody trained colt, Definitive, cost a substantial $1.3 million at the 2007 NZ Premier Sale at Karaka when secured from the draft of Haunui Farm, who turned a big profit on the colt having bought him for just $650,000 from the MM National Weanling Sale the previous year.

With several prominent breeders in his ownership, Definitive obviously made appeal as a stallion prospect, however it took six starts before the colt broke his duck at Ballarat. He did it in style with a two-and-a-half length victory over 1600m.

Definitive is a three-quarter brother to this seasons smart juvenile Shadow Assassin and is the second foal of the winning Citidancer mare Mascara Magic, a sister to Listed stakes-winner and Queensland Oaks (Gr1) runner-up Citirecruit.

Mascara Magics unraced dam Serene City (Marscay) is a half-sister to Mr Vitality, Rose O War, Danehill Express and Gunnamatta.
