Dane Shadow's Runners Show Promise
1-Dec-2008

Mudgee trained 2YO Hewentwhoosh (Dane Shadow-Zebithea) showed an amazing turn of foot at Randwick on Saturday after settling 4 lengths last in the Inglis Sydney Classic 2YR Handicap: 1150m.

Turning into the straight this handsome son of Dane Shadow looked to have blown any chance of being competitive off a tardy start when leaving the gates, but when turning for home and giving the leaders some ten lengths start, he made a sustained run closing the gap to one length only from the subsequent winner and Golden Slipper favorite Turf Express from Gai Waterhouse Stable. The judge called for the photo with the minors, and Hewentwhoosh running 4th beaten by a nose out of 2nd place.

Dane Shadow has had 4 starters for two 2nds and an unlucky 4th in town, and a mid field runner only beaten by 4 lengths in the Gimcrack Stakes L, in what has been a great form race to date. To this point Kitchwin Hills are pleased with the results and look forward to more runners.
