O'Shea warming to his import
3-Mar-2010

Randwick trainer John O"Shea believes former Argentinean galloper Snapy Halo could be one of the real surprise packets when he runs in the Group 3 Liverpool City Cup (1200m) on Saturday.

Brought to Australia by Kitchwin Hills Stud, Snapy Halo is a last start Group 1 winner of the Estrellas Mile.

O"Shea said he is "starting to take a bit of a liking to" Snapy Halo after doubts were cast following a couple of average trial efforts.

"He probably needs a mile before he shows his best but he"s quite a nice horse and he"s fit, well and sound," O"Shea said. "If they happen to run along in that race...I"d expect to see him attacking the line from back in the field.

O"Shea also said Snapy Halo"s 51kg weight allocation in the Doncaster is a "lovely winning weight".
