Dane Shadow - fast becoming the breeders buddy
Pictured above - Zabere/Dane Shadow 08 was the KWH Classic Sale Topper Following on from his Number 1 ranking at the Gold Coast, Dane Shadow has again delivered for breeders at the 2010 Inglis Classic Sale. To quote www.breednet.com.au, "Dane Shadow proved most profitable for his supporters with 14 youngsters averaging $50,964, more than six times his 2007 service fee of $7,700". Being Number 1 "return on service fee" at both sales to date in 2010 is quite an achievement and now the challenge is to continue this for future years from a higher service fee. Even if he had stood at $20k - $25k in 2007, Dane Shadow"s numbers would still be superior to most other stallions. Dane Shadow"s 2010 price will be determined somewhat by what happens this Autumn with horses like Shellscrape, Hurtle Myrtle, Shadow Minister, Rising Shadow, Race The Shadow, Dee Lilly and the returning 2YOs of promise, Shadows In The Sun, Turn It Up, Forgiven and Bust "N" Loose. Shellscrape"s full sister Red Tracer with Chris Waller will also be of interest when she comes back later in the spring whilst just quietly, Mark Wallace and Peter Moody are rumoured to have good ones.
